SAN MATEO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May. 19, 2009--
Keynote Systems (Nasdaq:KEYN), the
global leader in on-demand Internet test & measurement solutions
for continuously improving the online experience, today launched the
FastWeb Race, a competition designed to help the Web community share
experiences and build faster Web sites and applications. Web companies
and developers are invited to submit their most knotty Web applications
for consideration. Entries that are deemed to represent the most
stubborn, prevalent performance challenges on the Web will be selected
by a panel of Web technology & performance experts. Findings on how to
improve performance will be supplied to selected entrants for free.
Entries must be received by June 30th. More information about
submitting entries can be found at: www.fastwebrace.com.
The competition is open to anyone who wants to make tired, poor, slow
Web applications faster and more responsive. Entrants simply record the
Web site path or transaction that they want to improve using KITE
(Keynote Internet Testing Environment) which can be downloaded for free
from http://kite.keynote.com/download-center.php.
More Information on Entry Selection
Once all entries have been received, the panel of industry experts will
identify the top five entries that they consider to be compelling
examples of prevalent Web performance bottlenecks that have the most
potential to improve the performance of the Web. The winners will
receive a free performance assessment of their site and a free pass for
the Web Operations Conference Velocity
2009. The lessons learned will also be shared with the larger Web
community for the greater good.
“We’re really excited about the FastWeb Race and are looking forward to
supporting the Web community’s ever evolving efforts to solve
performance issues,” said Corinna Krueger, chair of the FastWeb Race.
“Every day we work with Web developers, QA and Web Operations
professionals, and there’s a great wealth of knowledge which we can all
learn from if we share our experiences. Taking this approach, everyone
in the race will benefit from our performance experts’ best practice
advice and tips, and we’ll be well on track to making sure all apps on
the Web are performing on par with end user’s expectations.”
