Keynote(R) Selected to Optimize the Online Performance of MemberDirect(R) Online Banking, Canada's Leading Banking Solution for Financial Institutions
-- MemberDirect Uses Keynote On-Demand Mobile Monitoring Service to Optimize Mobile SMS Services Including Common Short Codes

SAN MATEO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Apr. 1, 2009-- Keynote® Systems (Nasdaq: KEYN), the global leader in on-demand mobile and Internet test & measurement solutions for continuously improving the online experience, announced today that Central 1 Credit Union (Central 1), has selected Keynote Transaction Perspective® and Mobile Application Perspective (MAP) to monitor and optimize critical online services provided to customers of MemberDirect®, Central 1’s hosted online banking services used by financial institutions across Canada.

Transaction Perspective is Keynote’s flagship on-demand service that delivers unparalleled accuracy and visibility into end user experience with real Internet Explorer browser measurements. Keynote’s first-of-its-kind Common Short Code (CSC) monitoring service – which taps into the power of MAP to capture CSC metrics – was created to meet the growing industry demand for a solution offering increased visibility into the performance, availability and delivery of text messages sent via CSC.

“We needed end user perspective monitoring to enable us to ensure the best possible end user experience with our services across Canada,” explained Dan Killey, manager of MemberDirect operations.

Central 1 leverages Transaction Perspective to monitor and optimize performance of MemberDirect Services, its hosted online banking solution used by financial institutions for businesses and consumers. It employs Mobile Application Perspective in a similar manner for its Short Message Service (SMS), which allows end users to text their financial institution to obtain their balance and recent transactions. MemberDirect Services use both of these Keynote solutions during QA testing to optimize performance for new products as well as test performance after an upgrade and on an ongoing basis to proactively maintain high quality for its live services.

“We selected Keynote for several reasons,” Killey explained. “Keynote offered the most cost-effective solutions on the market. Keynote’s results better represent what end users experience because the performance and availability tests use Internet Explorer, rather than the browser simulation that competitors employ. The ISPs that Keynote tests better reflect Canadian usage patterns. Keynote furnishes an application programming interface that makes it easy for us to pull its data into our internal reporting and monitoring systems. And as gravy, Keynote was the only vendor that offered SMS monitoring at the time we made our decision.”

“We’re pleased to be helping Central 1 test and optimize the performance of its MemberDirect hosted banking Web sites and SMS services,” said Vik Chaudhary, vice president of product management and corporate development at Keynote. “By using Transaction Perspective for site performance monitoring and Mobile Application Perspective for SMS performance monitoring, Central 1 can be confident that the end user experience will be world-class.”
